Locked out of your car in Downtown Brampton?

Start with the garage or street address.

If the car is in a garage, give its name and street address, then the level, bay or nearby sign. For street parking, give the nearest numbered address and which side of the road the vehicle is on.

Do not rely on an old parking reference.

The City’s 28 August 2025 update announced the closure of Nelson Square Parking Garage and the George Street Surface Lot for its Centre for Innovation project. An older map or a saved parking description can therefore point someone to the wrong place.

Describe the entrance and signs you can actually see. If construction changes access to your parked vehicle, explain that on the phone.

If you are waiting somewhere else, say so.

You may have moved into a nearby business or another suitable waiting place. Give the provider both locations: the car’s parking position and where you can meet. Keep your callback phone available.

Before arranging car unlocking, ask whether the provider can attend that exact garage or street location, what the complete charge would be and how authorization will be checked if your documents are locked inside.

A location description you can use.

“The car is in [garage], level [number], near [sign]. The entrance I can see is on [street]. I am waiting at [meeting point]. The keys are [inside the cabin / in the trunk].”

While waiting, do not force the door or put improvised tools through the window seal.
